Ok, so I gave up on this show, I think in S01E10. Why? Because it’s false advertising. This show claims to be about a biker gang and their illustrous criminal rivals. Nowhere does this summary claim it’s a show about “gushing at babies”. This was actually the first time I can recall I stopped watching in the middle of an episode – when whimpy main character Jacks babbled on and on about the baby. See, if I want that, I watch… I don’t know, but I’m sure there’s a show about pedeatricians somewhere. There’s a show about everything, especially if it’s doctors. Point is, I do not want to watch and hear babble about babies, which is why I watch shows about other things. And it’s pissing me off if a show claims to be about something potentially interesting and turns out to be a borefest disguised with an exciting DVD cover.
Toddler daycare issues instead of biker gang’s criminal business simply doesn’t work. It’s a bigger stretch than having Leonardo DaVinci show up in Star Trek Voyager and it’s a more senseless combination than the Oz prison ward musical episode. (It was actually a very entertaining musical episode, and the absurdity added to it.)
Anyway. It’s sad that a promising show that even had an Elvis impersonator – a rare yet awesome thing to have for a MA rated show – turned out to be that annoying and misleading. Except Criminal Minds, nothing is back from hiatus yet, so I shall keep myself entertained with the other shows on my “Give it a try” list.
