Iron Sky (2012)
A movie premise like from a fever dream. Near the end of WWII, the nazis took off to hide on the dark side of the moon to build a huge UFO fleet and one day, re-take their home planet. Frankly, the only thing that would make this idea any better would be throwing in dinosaurs. But nothing is perfect and I can easily live without dinosaurs in this case.
Iron Sky is a Finnish b-movie and it is truly as b as a movie can be these days. It’s not amateur trash (which I’m very, very fond of). It’s a different category – it’s really really b, and the movie knows it. Plays to it. That’s what makes it so perfect.
I’m frankly not a fan of the German version. With the German native speakers, I don’t have a problem, but the voices given to the other actors are quite annoying. It also sometimes appears that some pages from the script were mixed up, but considering the nature of this movie, that really isn’t too bad.
